Scalene Affenpinschers

For many years I bred and exhibited Weimaraner Gundogs. In 1994
I introduced an Affenpinscher to the Scalene kennel. Since then I have shown and
occasionally bred them. During that time my Weimaraners have gradually reduced
from fourteen to one. With increasing years and a move to a smaller property I
have found the Affenpinscher easier to manage and this has enabled me to extend
my hobby well into my seventies. The Affenpinscher is a very adaptable dog that
will live happily in almost any home environment.
So what makes the Affenpinscher such an attractive prospect?
A comically serious little dog; also know as the Monkey Terrier,
though he is a member of the Toy Group. Scruffy , the urchin of the the dog
world who needs little grooming. An all black dog that often develops grey
frosting, even at an early age. Not a very easy dog to breed with a tendency to
produce small litters. Very loving, lively, self-confident and loyal, watchful
of strangers and friendly towards other animals both large and small - they see
themselves as six foot tall. A wonderful companion who will be a constant source
of pride and pleasure both as a show dog and pet.
